How to Mount Your Umbrella on Your Deck Railing
Average install time: 10 minutes. Tools needed: just the key included in your Rail-EZ kit.

Position the Bracket
Slide the Rail-EZ bracket onto your railing from the front. Position it where you want your umbrella — typically near the corner for best shade coverage.

Tighten the Clamp
Use the included key to tighten the clamp bolts. Rail-EZ fits railings 1.5" to 6" wide and 5/8" to 2.5" thick. Need more clearance? Add the Height Extension Plate for railings up to 4" thick.

Insert Your Umbrella Pole
Slide your umbrella pole through the front-loading bracket. Rail-EZ holds poles from 5/8" to 2" in diameter — fitting most standard patio umbrellas.

Extend Pole to Deck (Recommended)
For best stability — especially with larger umbrellas — let the pole extend down to the deck surface. This gives you a natural second support point.

Add Bottom Bracket (Optional but Recommended)
For maximum stability in wind, add the Rail-EZ Bottom Bracket lower on the railing. This creates two solid mounting points and is especially great for larger umbrellas.
