I have a narrow deck with a partial overhang. An umbrella in a base took up space on the deck, and the overhang prevented us from easily opening it. The Rail-EZ allowed us to move the umbrella beyond the overhang and regain our space. Also, our railing is custom-made with a wide, narrow top board and thin horizontal metal ribs. Using the additional Rail-EZ Bottom Bracket, the umbrella has been solid even on windy days.

I have difficulty with umbrella stands because they’re heavy and I struggle to lift them. I end up having to buy only the ones I can lift however it’s not heavy enough to keep umbrella from tipping over in any breeze. The rail ez is perfect because it clamps to my deck and holds umbrella securely. Down side is it’s not portable. I’m thinking of getting more for the opposite side of my deck since now it’s stationary.

Julia and Andrew are so helpful! We have a very difficult/extremely windy set up. Andrew spent time with me to troubleshoot set up and gave us lots of idea for increasing success/efficacy with shade sail install.
