This mounting system is excellent. It is a quality product. It is well-designed and sturdy. And east to install. A good buy.

I think the concept is great but I am not 100 percent happy. I have a metal railing and the device moves on the railing so I'm worried the umbrella may fall. I have the bottom attachment but it doesn't measure up on the bottom rail for a tight hold.

After struggling to use our patio umbrella with one of those heavy iron bases, we still were only able to use it VERY infrequently in typically gusty SF winds
But with the umbrella SECURELY attached to our railing, it’s like a new (shaded) world has opened for us! FIVE STARS!!

I considered every option for our deck, from sun sail to awning to large crank out umbrella. The ideal solution for shade – given the ever-changing path of the sun throughout the year, was the flexibility of 2 standard table umbrellas supported by a moveable rail mount. Rail-EZ was our bet, and we couldn't be happier with the flexibility and shade.
